Our Story

We decided to pursue landscaping as a business after our personal landscaped yard was featured on the June, 2002 Johnson County Glorious Gardens Tour. Steve and I were approached by many friends saying, “Could you come to our house and do something with our yard?” Consequently we began our business as a sole proprietor. We have developed a dedicated customer base who trust our judgment and depend on our good service. We enjoy making our customer’s dreams come true. Thus the name of our company, Stauffer’s Dream Garden. From our garden of dreams and experiences, we help others find theirs.

A message from Sue Stauffer, President and CEO of Stauffer’s Dream Garden, Inc.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Central Missouri State University (CMSU) in Warrensburg, Missouri. Steve also graduated from CMSU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Power Technology. We both have always been interested in plants and trees, planting over 1500 trees of different varieties on our current property. I am the designer and Steve is the one who makes it all happen. We work as a team and enjoy working with our passion. We are insured and are certified meeting the state and federal requirements of the law. Our company was incorporated on Dec. 17, 2002. I passed the Indiana State Chemist core exams in March of 2004 to be a Certified Pesticide Applicator and have completed all class requirements for the Category 3A and 3B (Ornamentals) and Category 6 (Right-of-Way). I have attended six various workshops over the last six years to achieve the knowledge required.

Steve is a registered technician qualified to apply fertilizers and herbicides. He has attained the necessary certifications for designing and building walls. Steve and I attend the Indiana Nursery and Landscape Association conference in Indianapolis every January to keep up with the new developments and techniques in landscaping. We have learned by experience what works well for us and our customers, and we’d like to be your personal landscape team as well.
